 Nyla Calloway is an educator, children's book author, publisher, wife, and proud mother whose greatest passion is helping children discover just how capable, valuable, and extraordinary they truly are.

As a classroom teacher, Nyla has witnessed firsthand the power that books have to shape a child's confidence and perspective. Every day, she sees young learners navigating challenges, celebrating victories, and discovering who they are becoming. Those experiences, combined with the joy of raising her own two sons, inspired her to create stories that encourage children to believe in themselves, embrace their uniqueness, and never give up—even when something feels impossible.

Her debut children's book, I Am Enough: Affirmations for Black Kings and Queens, was written to remind children that they are worthy, confident, intelligent, and beautifully created. She followed that with I Can Do Anything, an uplifting story that teaches children the importance of perseverance, resilience, and developing a growth mindset. Through every page she writes, Nyla hopes children walk away believing one simple but powerful truth: they are capable of more than they ever imagined.

Driven by a desire to make an even greater impact, Nyla founded Milestones Ink, an independent publishing company dedicated to creating meaningful children's literature while helping aspiring authors bring their own stories to life. She believes every child deserves books that inspire confidence, encourage curiosity, and celebrate the journey of growth. She also believes that every author with a meaningful story deserves guidance and support through the publishing process.

Whether she's teaching in the classroom, writing her next story, speaking with young readers, or working alongside new authors, Nyla's mission remains the same: to empower others through the power of words.

When she's not writing, you'll find her spending time with her family, reading a good book, cheering on her sons, or dreaming up the next story that will inspire children to dream bigger, believe deeper, and bloom into everything they were created to be.
